What If the Orion Nebula Were Closer?

Everyone knows about the Orion Nebula by now. Even those with binoculars can see it, even if it's small and faint, if it's in a good location.

Orion, also known as Messier 42, is large and located 1,344 light-years away. It's 40 light-years across. For comparison, Earth is 8 light-minutes away from the Sun, and our solar system, including the Oort layer, is about a light-year across.

Now, focus on this question. What would the Orion Nebula look like if it were four light-years away—leaving aside the many effects it would have, of course? It would certainly fill the sky. The answer to our question is in the gif below. It may take a while to load, but believe me, it's worth it.
