Scientists Detect Magmatic Water on the Moon

Scientists have detected magmatic water originating from within the Moon. The first such detection was made on August 25th. Nature Geoscience These findings can lead to sudden changes in our understanding of the geological structure of the Moon.

While the Moon was until recently thought to be a dry satellite, it has now been determined that this is no longer the case. However, this does not mean that the magmatic water discovered in Bullialdus crater lies deeper. Future discoveries will provide the answer.

Scientists discovered water in Bullialdus crater hydroxyl They reported that it is. It is a type of molecule consisting of one oxygen and one hydrogen atom. Water on Earth consists of one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms.

Magmatic water from the Moon's interior can provide information about the Moon's volcanic developments and internal structure.
