Geminid Meteor over Mount Balang

This is a memorable image. A few days ago, during observations of the Geminids meteor shower on Mount Balang in China, a meteor was observed entering the atmosphere. In the foreground, a sea of fog drifted along the mountainside, while in the upper right corner of the sky, the constellation Orion and the famous three-star belt of Orion were visible. At the center of the photograph, the brightest star, Sirius, was visible. This image of the meteor entering the atmosphere lasted only a few short seconds.
