M45: The Pleiades Star Cluster

Have you seen the Pleiades star cluster before? If so, you've probably never seen it dusty like this. The Pleiades, the most famous star cluster in the sky, can be seen from even a light-polluted city without the need for binoculars. Even short exposures in a dark environment can make the star cluster's dust cloud more visible.

The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, is located 400 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

Pleiades also means the seven stars of the Pleiades.m45_colombari_2645
