Earth and Türkiye in the Total Solar Eclipse
We see the solar eclipses from Earth and even from the International Space Station, but what about the situation on Earth's surface?
During a solar eclipse, the Moon's shadow falls on the Earth's surface. In the photograph, we see the shadow cast over Türkiye and Cyprus. The shadow moves across the Earth's surface at an average speed of 2,000 km/h. This means the shadow lasts in one place for only a few minutes at most.
This photo was taken from the International Space Station of the March 2006 solar eclipse.
